Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

Information Technology develops children’s skills and understanding of our modern world. Children gain confidence working with computers and programmable models, which are used in most curriculum areas. The academy offers a variety of computers and software, (Microsoft Windows), I-pads and programmable models.

Through ImproveIT.Ltd, Mr Sandy teaches the Computing curriculum to our children to ensure they become digitally literate and can understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation

Aspects covered are;

  • Word Processing
  • Data Handling
  • Controlling
  • Modelling
  • Programming

The whole academy is networked to a Server, enabling Broadband internet access throughout the Academy. All children will have access to working on the internet. No photographs or names of children will be placed on the internet or on our Academy website without your consent.

A camcorder and / or camera (including digital) may be used to record your child for assessment purposes or observing behaviour, and for general historical recording, including Academy and LA publications. Photographs of children may be used by local newspapers and educational publications. E-safety awareness is constantly highlighted to children.

The Academy does not permit video recordings of events such as assemblies and sports day. We also do not like photographs taken during events. Photography distracts the performers.

Please be aware, that no photographs or any past video recordings is allowed to be placed online, especially social media sites such as Facebook.
